Titanium, by choice
Most earrings hang on whatever hook is cheapest — steel, brass, or a thin plating that wears through. Every pair from the kp project hangs on titanium instead — a deliberate choice for the one part of the earring that actually touches you.
Kind to sensitive ears
Titanium is hypoallergenic and nickel-free — the usual culprit behind itchy, sore earlobes is the nickel in cheaper metals. It’s also remarkably light, so the wire all but disappears in wear. If most earrings tend to bother you, these are made to be the ones that don’t.
Color from the metal itself
The color of each hook isn’t paint and isn’t plating — it’s the titanium itself, colored by anodizing: passing a precise electric voltage through the metal grows a microscopically thin layer that bends light into a color. Nudge the voltage and the color shifts — gold, bronze, blue, violet.
That means the hook can be tuned. For every piece, the voltage is chosen by hand so the ear wire’s color sits in harmony with that piece’s wood and its tones — a small decision most makers never even consider, made one piece at a time.
Considered to the last detail
